Northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)
 
Original work is a watercolor and gouache painting.  Prints are 8x10 on 80-pound linen paper. 
 
Artist's Notes: A pair of Northern Cardinals, or redbirds, as my grandmother called them. This illustration shows this species' sexual diamorphism, with the male on the lower left, and the female on the upper right. This was my second watercolor in the backyard birds series.
