There’s magic in the margins
Stop, look closer, and marvel.
As an ecologist I always had a sketchbook in my field bag, and now that I am home in North Central Florida I create artwork that explores the beauty and complexity of ecological relationships, with a special focus on native wildlife and the often-overlooked plants and animals we share space with every day here. My goal is to help people see that nature’s wonder isn’t confined to distant mountains or rainforests, it’s right outside our doors, wherever we call home, too.

Working primarily in watercolor, gouache, and acrylic, I draw inspiration from my experiences as a biologist and field researcher. Whether I’m painting a bird or native plants, each piece begins with a organic observation and often deepens into a mini research journey for me. I’m especially interested in portraying the connections between species, the interdependence of life, and how even small organisms shape the world around them.

Through my art, I hope to educate and inspire: to accurately reflect the biodiversity of the Southeast, and to rekindle a sense of curiosity and awe for the living systems woven into our everyday lives.
